Saturday August 24th 2013 marked the launch party for Supermodel Sam Sarpong’s Future Stars Collection on-trend Xen Lounge in Studio City. Sponsored by Crystal Glacier Waters, Steps 4 Paws and KD Luxe jewelry, this event brought together Hollywood’s A List writers, actors, producers, directors and artists. Supermodels from around the globe added to the beauty of the evening.
Here’s an account of how the night unfolded:
Sam arrived in a Marini Motors custom Tahoe accompanied by Miss AZ, Brittany Bell, R& B recording artist, Brandon J, Miss Wales, Ayesha Perry Igbal Miss CA, Noel Freeman and Italian supermodel Regina Salpagarova who is here doing a Maxim magazine fashion spread. The supermodels wore custom pieces from Sam’s Chosen One collection including a tight fitting fringed tee and a leather limited edition jacket.
Stepping out of the car, they were greeted by a mob of cameras and could see the line of guests so long that it snaked around the corner. Even before going in they spent 30 minutes outside for interviews with Hollywood’s leading purveyors of entertainment news: Celebrity Jabber, World Monitor TV, LA LIVE and Soul Magazine.
Owners of Xen Lounge, Duane Martin and wife Tisha Campbell were on hand to welcome Sam and his entourage. Xen Lounge is the new place in town to dine and unwind in lush zenlike surroundings. Tables had been set inside and out with beautifully decorated bottles of water from Crsytal Glacier, for whom Sam is the new celebrity face. These bottles lit up the night like beacons and were a much sought after souvenir. All the staff was wearing Sam’s “Chosen One-Steps 4 Paws-Who’s Hot In Hollywood” signature tees.
Among the busy writers, actors, producers, directors and artists who came out to support Sam’s launch were: Allen Payne (House of Payne), Sam Jones (Smallville and ER), John Marshall Jones (Smart Guy) Inessa Alex (European pop star featured in Sam’s upcoming single, “Fresh Kidz” due to be released during Toronto’s Fashion Week), Ken Kokin (Usual Suspects, Way of the Gun and award winning documentary, “Tom’s Shoes”), Shalena Smith(Gaga Designs; nursery and baby designs for celebrity A List stars), Young Nice (producer of the Summer’s hottest song “Switch Lanes” by rappers Tyga & The Game).
Adding to the excitement of the evening was a movie being filmed using Sam’s launch party as the location for several scenes. The movie “Honeymoon” will be headlining the next LA Film Festival.
Any event that Sam has always includes old friends and family. Friend Toni Scott, a mixed media artist with pieces in galleries all over the world, was there. Sam was Toni’s subject for a huge photograph for the Los Angeles African American Museum. Sam’s profile from one of Toni’s pieces graced the cover of the magazine for the Los Angeles 2013 African American Heritage Month Calendar and Cultural Affairs Guide.
Sam’s mission through his Chosen One line of clothing is to promote a positive attitude. So it is not surprising that he has aligned himself with like minded supporters and sponsors. Crystal Glacier is a company that bottles the earth’s purest and healthiest water, taking it the world over in beautiful etched glass bottles. Steps4Paws–Saving Lives 1 Step At A Time has partnered its tee shirt business with that of the plight of homeless dogs, using proceeds from the sale of tee shirts to spread awareness and educate people on pet overpopulation. Yet another sponsor, KD Luxe jewelry collections exudes an inherent energy in materials for well being and a feeling of abundance.
Sam’s “The Chosen One” line of clothing promotes confidence and self-awareness. Messages on his clothing set the tone for positive thoughts and attitudes. He believes each of us has been “Chosen” and has a “Future”. His message is a great mix with companies that promote pure, healthy water; canine awareness and education and personal well being and abundance.
If you were lucky, you went home that night with Sam’s and his sponsors’ philosophies in a gift bag; A Who’s Hot In Hollywood- steps4paws tee, KD Luxe jewelry and Crystal Glacier Water.
